本頁條款目前只提供英文版本,以英文版為準。

These terms are the agreement between you and ONNINE LABS PTY LTD for the CantoDuck app and this website. By downloading, using, or subscribing to CantoDuck, you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use the app.

Eligibility and parental use

CantoDuck is built for children aged roughly 3–5 to use together with a parent or carer. You must be 18 or over to create an account, make a purchase, or manage a subscription, and by doing so you confirm you are the parent or legal guardian of the child using the app. Account creation, purchases, and anything else aimed at a grown-up sit behind a parental gate, so a young child cannot reach them on their own. You are responsible for supervising your child's use and for the subscription settings on your own store account.

Licence

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use CantoDuck for your own personal and family use. It does not allow you to resell, sublicense, rent, or otherwise make the app available to anyone outside your household.

App features

CantoDuck teaches Cantonese through a sound board, character recognition, Echo speaking practice, and a family tree for learning the names of relatives. Features evolve as the app develops, and not every feature is available on every device or in every version.

Subscriptions and billing

CantoDuck Premium is an auto-renewing annual subscription, and a free trial period may be offered. It renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your store account is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends.

Prices vary by country, currency, and any offer that applies. The price and the subscription length shown in the App Store or Google Play at the moment you purchase are the ones that apply to you.

To cancel, use the subscription settings in your Apple App Store or Google Play account — cancellation is handled by the store, not by us, and we cannot cancel a store subscription on your behalf. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are also handled by the store under its own policy.

If a free trial is offered and you cancel before it ends, you are not charged. When a subscription lapses, the app keeps working with the free topics and your child's progress stays on the device — nothing is deleted, and the paid topics unlock again if you resubscribe.

Restore purchases

If you change device or reinstall the app, you can restore an existing purchase from inside CantoDuck. Restoring works with the same store account that made the original purchase.

What Premium includes

An active Premium subscription unlocks every topic in CantoDuck, including topics we add later, at no extra charge for as long as the subscription is active. We may occasionally retire or replace content, but we will not move content you already have access to behind an additional payment. One Premium subscription covers your family on all of the devices signed in to the store account that bought it.

Recordings and photos

Voice notes that a parent records stay on the device and are never uploaded to us. Echo practice listens to your child only to check whether a word was said; we never receive, store, or keep a recording of your child's voice. Photos you add to the family tree stay on the device. Our Privacy Policy explains all of this in full, including the speech recognition service the app relies on.

Acceptable use

Please don't reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the audio, artwork, or lesson content from the app. Please don't redistribute that content or use it to build a competing product, and please don't access the app by automated means or interfere with how it works for other families.

Educational purpose only

CantoDuck is a learning aid for families to use at home. It is not a substitute for formal schooling or a qualified language teacher, and it does not provide any accreditation, qualification, or formal assessment of your child's ability.

Intellectual property

The app and everything in it — audio, artwork, characters, lesson content, and the CantoDuck name — belong to ONNINE LABS PTY LTD or our licensors. Anything you create yourself, such as your own voice recordings, your family tree, and your photos, remains yours.

Privacy

How we handle your family's data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We may add, change, or remove features, and the service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. If we materially change these terms we will publish the new version on this page with a new effective date.

Disclaimer of warranties

Except for guarantees that cannot be excluded by law, CantoDuck is provided "as is", and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Limitation of liability

Where the law permits us to limit our liability, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for CantoDuck in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and we fail to meet a consumer guarantee for services, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

Termination

You can stop using CantoDuck at any time by cancelling your subscription in your store account and deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms; the sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability continue to apply afterwards. Deleting the app removes the data held on that device, and if you created a family account you can delete it and everything synced to it from inside the app.

Apple App Store

If you downloaded CantoDuck from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of any conflict, Apple's EULA prevails.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State. If you live somewhere else, you may still have rights under the consumer law where you live, and nothing here takes those away.
